Camelback
In the heart of Phoenix is Camelback mountain. It’s a point to help navigate you around as a new citizen to the city. It looks like a sleeping camel keeping one eye on the city as he snoozes his life away. This little mountain is a popular hike for visitors and locals. There are two ways… Continue reading Camelback

Making Time
Finally starting to get into a routine with this whole food blogger (for pay) thing. I am one of those crazy creatives who thrives on routine. I need structure in my life. Probably because everything is pretty crazy up in my head, I need the outside to be as dependable and structured as possible. Trying… Continue reading Making Time
Sunrise Peak
Sunrise peak hike is a ball buster. It hurts. It’s hard. It thoroughly kicked my ass! Yes, I know I’m out of shape. Yes, I know I STILL need to lose 30 pounds. But I’m a pretty tough lady, and I wanted to stop half way up. The following images were taken on the way down!… Continue reading Sunrise Peak
Sunrise Trail
Yesterday, after my kickass chickpea salad, I went on a hike to see Sunrise peak. It’s located down the street from my kid’s school so I hit the trail thinking I had enough time to get there and back. Well, I didn’t. I got up to the point in the photo above looking back over the… Continue reading Sunrise Trail
Sedona, AZ
This is really beautiful landscape. Stunning. I can see why it’s touristy. We drove the jeep up some 4×4 only road to get to the Devil’s Bridge trailhead. Izaak is loving this jeep friendly country. Pretty, yes? It’s a nice hike up there too with lovely views and a little bit of scrambling. Really great views.… Continue reading Sedona, AZ
Butcher Jones Trail
We ventured out this morning for a nice long hike. We settled on a trail that had a little something different than regular desert views. The Butcher Jones Trail was it. It took us about 20’ish minutes to get there from Scottsdale. It looks like a fun place to kayak or paddle board (summer time, maybe?).… Continue reading Butcher Jones Trail

Today Izaak and I hiked to the Taliesin Overlook on the Lost Dog Trail. Arizona really shines in the morning. The light highlights everything in a light that makes it all seem so magical. You want to just sit and breath in all of the wonder and newness (this might be special to me being… Continue reading Arizona landscape porn
All by myself…
Today I ventured out on a hike all by myself. My kid forgot homework so I ran it to his school. I was already dressed for a run so I decided to hike the Lost Dog Trail. This is where I get proud of myself. I have done hikes. I have done really hard 14 mile… Continue reading All by myself…
